Wow, what a performance!
The 63rd Army Band represented the New Jersey National Guard with a performance for both Prep and PASE students in the Prep Auditorium. The National Guard is a branch of the United States military where members are citizen-soldiers; meaning they serve part-time while either attending college or having a civilian job and maintaining military training. Citizen-soldiers or airmen can be deployed at any time of their contract.
Among the crowd were young student musicians. Throughout this performance, students were also offered the opportunity to ask questions regarding the soldiers’ involvement in the band, along with questions about recruitment, qualifications, and experiences with basic training. The performance may have inspired Prep students to get involved in music, such as by joining the Passaic Pep Band, Passaic Marching Band, or music classes offered at either one of the academies.
