PHOTOS: Prom, 2026

Passaic’s Class of 2026 had an amazing night of music, dancing, and celebration at their Prom on June 15 at Legacy Castle in Pompton Plains.

The theme for the Class of 2026’s Prom was: The Great Gatsby. This theme had not been used at Prep prior to this year. Seniors from Prep, PASE, and PHS attended this event.

Prep’s Prom King was Luis Marrujo and the Prom Queen was Valerie Ramirez.

Juniors were also invited from the Journalism Club. Our three juniors: Kaelyn Martinez, Yareliz Penafiel, and Valeria Merino-Garcia were chosen based on their participation in the club throughout the year and were allowed to attend as media.See the photo gallery, above, by Kaelyn, the photo gallery, below, by Valeria and the video by Yareliz.

Kaelyn Martinez, News Editor, is a junior at Prep in the Video Production Pathway. She is involved in The Boulevard Online, the Optimist Club, the National Honor Society, and the early college program. She enjoys hanging out with friends, listening to music, and editing videos.

Yareliz Penafiel, Photo/Video Editor

Yareliz Penafiel, Photo/Video Editor, is a junior at Prep. This is her 6th year at Prep. She is involved in The Boulevard Online and the Optimist Club. She likes to spend time with friends and family and read books.

Valeria Merino-Garcia, Staff Reporter

Valeria Merino-Garcia is a junior at Prep and a member of the Editorial Board. In addition to the Journalism Club, she is actively involved in Dance and Chorus and participates in the Upward Bound Pre-College Program and More Than Bootstraps. Valeria is also engaged in many other school clubs, demonstrating her strong commitment to academics, the arts, and community involvement.
