ANGELIE AGUILAR
- What qualities make you stand out among the candidates?
The qualities that make me stand out among other candidates are my ambition, collaboration skills, and diligence. I am known for my enthusiasm and passion, which drive me to excel in everything I do. I love organizing events and brainstorming innovative ideas that benefit our school community. When it comes to teamwork, I thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working with diverse groups of people to achieve common goals efficiently. I take pride in delivering high-quality work, especially for major projects or school events. Ensuring that students have the best possible experience is my top priority, and I dedicate myself to achieving exceptional results.
- If elected, what is the primary concern at Prep that you hope to address?
One of my primary concerns is the impact of the lack of feedback. When we come to school, we strive to uphold our Prep pride, but as a student council, our efforts can only go so far. If elected, I aim to create a platform where everyone can voice their concerns effectively.
We have a wonderful social media page managed by student council members, allowing people to reach out about various events. However, I believe we can do more. I envision a system where students’ voices are heard in person. I would like to add monthly council meetings where students can come in, share their needs and wants, and contribute directly to the betterment of our school
- What new events would you bring to Prep for the students?
Despite our busy schedules at Prep, I believe there are two events that would greatly enhance our school experience. First, I would love to bring back Field Day. This event allows students to unwind and enjoy time with friends after rigorous testing and classwork. Field Day hasn’t been held since my freshman year, and I want students to have the opportunity to enjoy activities like tug of war and other outdoor games.
Additionally, as a junior, I understand the immense effort and determination required to navigate this challenging year of high school. With the pressure of SATs, NJGPA, NJSLA, MAP, and benchmarks, I propose introducing a Junior Prom. This event would provide a much-needed break from the academic grind. By renting a hall, juniors can have a fun and memorable experience outside of school, helping to relieve stress and celebrate their hard work. Organizing these events is one of my top goals if elected.
