Ms. Kaitlin DiStasi is Prep’s new Health and Physical Education this year! She has been teaching for 10 years including five in Passaic. She also taught at PASE before moving to Prep for this school year.
Ms. DiStasi was kind enough to lend The Boulevard Online some of her free time for an interview.
The Boulevard Online: What are your hobbies outside of work?
Ms. DiStasi: I like to run and I like to spend time with family and friends.
TBO: If you were going to be stranded on an island, what three things would you bring with you and why?
Ms. DiStasi: Water because I need to stay hydrated, my phone cause I want to be connected to the world, and food because I like foo
TBO: What made you want to become a gym teacher?
Ms. DiStasi: I always had a passion for health and fitness and I always like to live an active lifestyle and I wanted to share that passion with people. That is why I wanted to become a teacher.
TBO: If you could have any animal as a pet, what would it be?
Ms. DiStasi: A dog, because they are playful, easy to train, and they are your friend for life.
TBO: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Ms. DiStasi: I would live in Italy because they have great food, you can walk everywhere, and get a little bit of everything like city, country, beaches.
TBO: Do you have any regrets in life?
Ms. DiStasi: I don’t have any regrets because everything is a learning experience.
TBO: What was your favorite subject when you went to school?
Ms. DiStasi: Math, because it was one thing that was easy for me and I love problem-solving.
TBO: Tell us a funny story you have heard/had happen to you.
Ms. DiStasi: One time I was riding a bike and the pedal fell off and I fell off the bike and fell in the middle of the road and I had to walk my bike back home and I was like three blocks away from home.
TBO: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
Ms. DiStasi: Teleporting, because I can get anywhere in seconds and I can go everywhere.
TBO: If you could go back in time, what would you say to your younger self?
Ms. DiStasi: I’d say don’t worry too much, everything will work out the way it is supposed to.
