As the winter chill settled in, our school’s halls were warmed by the radiant enthusiasm of students competing in our second Attendance Competition of the year!
We’re thrilled to announce the victors: the spirited juniors from our high school and the enthusiastic 7th-graders from Ms. Jimenez’s cohort! These winners will bask in the joy of a free dress-down day this Friday, a well-deserved break from the usual routine.
“I am really surprised we won; I feel we deserved it with all the testing coming up. As a junior, it’s time we make an academic comeback, and winning this competition was a good start,” said Prep junior Damny Rodriguez, echoing the sentiments of the champions.
But wait, there’s more! In addition to our esteemed winners, we’re excited to celebrate the top 20 percent performers from across the school (see the complete list, below). These outstanding students will be treated to a delightful combo of pastries and a hot chocolate bar, a sweet reward for their consistent efforts.
Prep Vice Principal Mr. Vargas expressed his satisfaction for the winners’ success and his desire to encourage better student attendance overall.
“I want to hype the competition more, and I am hoping with the addition of the student attendance committee, we will get better ideas and rewards to motivate more students to be in school,” said Mr. Vargas, highlighting the new ways the attendance committee is planning to increase engagement among students for being in school.
