This fall, students will have a seventh choice when it comes to picking a Pathway.
For years, students have been able to pick from six Pathways at Prep: Video Production, Dance, Theatre, Legal Studies, Digital Art and Music Technology.
That changes in the fall of 2024, with the addition of the Education Pathway (which might end up being called the Teaching Pathway). See the video explanation, below, from Principal Bruce.
The new Pathway will be about teaching students how to teach, and eventually making it an early college program as students learn to become teachers. Ms. Bruce said that freshmen will have all seven pathways to choose from, while sophomores will be given the option to switch from their freshman Pathway into the Education Pathway. Both classes will have the opportunity to complete the new Pathway, which is a minimum of three years, and could include an optional fourth year.
The only class available in the fall will be the first year, and juniors and seniors will be able to choose it as an elective.
Leading the new Pathway will be uber-popular sixth-grade teacher Mr. Stamat! Watch the video, above, to hear from Mr. Stamat about the new Pathway. Reach out to Mr. Stamat at [email protected].
