Prep senior Amy Zarebczan was honored Monday night at the City of Passaic Board of Education meeting for her outstanding contributions to the Passaic community. Amy was honored specifically for outstanding community activism. The former Student Council President is President of the Passaic City Youth Council, Chairwoman for Prep’s Service Committee and has a long history of volunteerism in the Passaic community.

“Yesterday, I was honored for outstanding community activism, and it is proof that hard work pays off,” said Amy. “From endless nights of event planning, to running clothing drives, to running toy drives, to organizing mental health walks, to simply volunteering my time to those in need — making sure children had coats to wear, families had food on the table, and individuals have clothes to wear. The work I have been honored to do has impacted my life in more ways than one. My journey in public service is just beginning, but I’ve grown a lot and I’ve learned a lot.”
