Teacher Spotlight: Mr. Costarelli

Mr. Eric Costarelli is a high school U.S. History II teacher at Passaic Preparatory Academy. He has been a teacher for more than six years in Passaic, including two years at School 10, one year at School 19, and now three years at the Prep. Prior to his time in Passaic, Mr. Costarelli worked for BMW Corporate Headquarters. He graduated from Montclair State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in History and is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in History from Pace University with a 3.8 GPA.
Mr. Costarelli was kind enough to give us some of his time to answer questions from The Boulevard Online:
The Boulevard Online: How long have you been teaching ?
Mr. Costarelli: 6½ years.
TBO: How long have you been teaching at Prep?
Mr. Costarelli: I am in my fourth year.
TBO: What do you do in your free time?
Mr. Costarelli: Prior to Covid I liked to travel around the world and go to different shows and events in New York City.
TBO: Any advice you would like to give to your students?
Mr. Costarelli: Keep working hard and learn to believe in yourself. Get off Social, that stuff is no good for you!!!
TBO: If you could have only three items during a zombie apocalypse, what would you bring?
Mr. Costarelli: This one is tough to answer.
TBO: Do you have any pets?
Mr. Costarelli: Yes, one dog and her name is Sandy
TBO: If you had three wishes, what would they be?
Mr. Costarelli: World peace, wealth equality, race and gender equality.
TBO: What is your favorite part of teaching?
Mr. Costarelli: I love getting to work with a diverse student population and exploring new and interesting current events.
TBO: Can you tell us your craziest adventure that you had?
Mr. Costarelli: I don’t know where to start.
TBO: If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Mr. Costarelli: London, England. It is my favorite vacation destination.
