It’s almost time for the annual Donuts with Grownups event!
The event, which has two sessions, morning and afternoon, sees students bringing their parents or guardians to Prep. Before they eat donuts, drink coffee and tea, they talk and spend quality time together away from home.
About 150 donuts, 150 cookies and plenty of coffee and tea have been ordered for the event. More people are expected to attend in the morning than in the afternoon. The event will take place on Friday, May 22, in the Media Center. The Prep Parent Committee came up with this idea in 2023 and it has been happening ever since.
The Boulevard Online asked Ms. Mordaga from Prep’s Parent Committee questions about Donuts with Grownups:
TBO: What can we expect from Donuts with Grownups?
Ms. Mordaga: You can expect a fun and welcoming event that brings families together. Donuts with Grownups was created to help students and parents spend quality time together while getting to know other families in the Prep community.
TBO: What opportunities can students and parents have during this event?
Ms. Mordaga: Students and parents will have the opportunity to connect with one another, meet new families, build stronger relationships, and enjoy time together in a relaxed and friendly environment.
TBO:: What was the reason you guys created Donuts with Grownups?
Ms. Mordaga: Donuts with Grownups was created because Prep’s Parent Committee wanted to make time for students and parents to get to know each other better and strengthen the sense of community among families.
