Imagine being 18 and already having won five Grammy Awards!

Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O’Connell has always been special. She became known when her single “Ocean Eyes” was released at age 13, in 2016. She has won five grammys

despite being diagnosed with depression and Tourette’s Syndrome, and now she has been celebrated by the students at Passaic Preparatory Academy, as well.

The Boulevard offered a poll for our readers: “Which has been YOUR favorite music?” and of course Billie Eilish’s first album, “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?” won with 31 votes. Bad Bunny’s album “YHLQMDLG” came in second with 25 votes. The Weeknd’s “After Hours” was third with 17, Ariana Grande with her latest album, “Thank U, Next,” was next with 12 votes. There were 103 total voters in the poll, which lasted for one week.

A little bit of information about Billie Eilish:

  • Her first song, “Ocean Eyes,” was actually supposed to be for her dance class performance.
  • Her brother, Finneas O’Connell, writes songs with Billie.
  • Aug. 11, 2017, Billie and Finneas, made her first album, which was called “Don’t Smile at Me.” The album had 1.2 billion streams.
  • “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?” was released March 29, 2019. It went to No. 1 on the U.S. music charts.
  • The title of the album came from the lyrics to the song “Bury a Friend.”
  • Her “No Time to Die” will be featured in an upcoming James Bond movie.
  • Billie deliberately wears baggy clothing because she doesn’t want to be body-shamed online.

“When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?” was nominated for Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards, and her song “Bad Guy” was nominated for Song of the Year. She took home both awards, as well as Best New Artist, Best Record for “Bad Guy” and Best Pop Vocal Album. After the Grammys, she went to the Oscars to perform a tribute for the legendary actors who had died in the past year.

At 18, worldwide superstar Billie Eilish still lives with her parents but already has won a lifetime of awards.
