Mariachi is a style of traditional folk music from Mexico, characterized by its lively and booming sound, and the impeccable fashion of its musicians. At Passaic Preparatory Academy, it is the initiative of Mr. Perez to teach his Modern Band students how to perform like real Mariachi musicians.
However, the road to success is not easy, as students learn that being able to perform at such a high standard requires lots of practice and dedication. Watch this 10-minute documentary, as The Boulevard Online Editor-In-Chief Julian Carrera records the trials and tribulations of Mr. Perez and the Passaic Prep Mariachi Band this past school year.
