Fourth-year students in the Digital Arts Pathway were joined by creative writing and video production students when they visited the American Museum of Natural History for a field trip on Jan. 28 in New York City.
The art students were tasked with drawing an organic piece for their portfolios. Mr. Watson organized the trip, which gave the students the chance to observe and sketch dinosaur fossils up close and use them as the basis for their artwork. Students carefully chose a fossil during the tour and started drawing, paying close attention to texture, form, and detail. In addition to adding to the students’ portfolios, the field trip enhanced their understanding of natural history as a source of creative inspiration.
