At “La Fortaleza.” located at 335 Paterson Plank Rd, Carlstadt, every bite feels like a trip to the heart of Mexico.
As well as being filled with authentic flavors and a welcoming festive vibe that captures the feeling of the traditional heritage. That makes the experience more than just a meal. La Fortaleza delivers you all authentic Mexican styled dishes from their menus that hold a variety of choices to choose from. Even including vibrant and definite unforgettable atmosphere experience.
La Fortaleza offers a diverse selection of Mexican dishes in their menu, from of course the classic traditional tacos, enchiladas and a large amount of other authentic specials. The taste of all the food I tried were so delicious and such a nostalgic taste, it reminded me so much of my own mothers cooking and also my grandma’s but just presented in a more fancy manner. My sister and I ordered together. We both decided on the famous “Camarones a La Diabla.” The design on the plate was so adorable and fit with the whole festive theme, the placement of the pretty editable purple flower was neatly placed on the white rice. The plate was massive and the food itself was a generous amount.
The pricing is very reasonable, but it really depends on how much you think to get when you’re here. I ordered a classic “Fruit Punch Jarrito”, a traditional Mexican soda, while my sister (disclaimer: She is over 21), ordered a more adult drink, their also classic Piña Colada. As you could see in the photo the drink itself is put into a Pineapple and the outside is decorated with limes and and lemon to create the cutest smile, and it was topped off with a colorful straw and tiny umbrella. My sister Rachel claims the drink to have been amazing and being the perfect balance.
My initial thought is how unforgettable this place is, my family loves celebrating for special occasions here, especially since on the weekends when most families would come to celebrate their loved ones birthdays, the guest can order a birthday special where the workers of the restaurant would come together and sing to the guest a happy birthday, its optional but the workers have such a positive vibe. Me and my family also love the amount of room this place has, the tables themselves vary in different sizes but most of the time even if
we get set in a four seat table, the waiters would neatly place as many as we need together, great for families. Normally on the weekends there is always an actual DJ who plays the most classic and upbeat hispanic songs, and there would be times where even special characters from Mexico’s famous shows or childhood shows would come and say hi to the guest where most parents would take pictures of their kids with. The walls are all decorated in the most breathtaking way possible.
I recommend this restaurant if you’re all about wanting to experience the festivity of Mexican culture.
