Prep students filled the streets to watch the yearly commemoration of the 9-11 ceremony on Sept. 11, 2024.
Prep seniors lined the stairs with flags, each flag representing 10 lives we lost on that somber day in 2001. Prep’s Student Council helped set up the ceremony, making posters that were used during the ceremony and passing out flags to seniors.
The ceremony began with opening remarks by Vice Principal Ms. Lauricella, and our national anthem was sung by Dulce Gil Hernandez. Student Council President Alison Ramos, Vice President Jessica Latorre, and Secretary Angelie Aguilar all gave speeches about the day to inform students about the past and how it affects us today. During the ceremony, PASE student Antonio Bravo played taps on the trumpet before the moments of silence.
We ask that although it might not be what you normally post, please take a picture of the sky and post it on your social media using the hashtags #NeverForget9/11 #Rememberthesky and @9/11museum.
